These books were really my most beloved series as a kid, I read all 16 books when I was like 10 and they have done irreparable damage to my psyche in the best way possible. They were basically my Warrior Cats. I did read Warrior Cats too, and was pretty obsessed with it as a child, but it didn't stick like the owls did. These books are the sole reason that I am now absolutely obsessed with owls. It also helped that a beautifully animated movie about the first 3 books exists.
I am currently in the process of rereading all the books, and they're still as good as when I first read them.
Funfact: Humans once existed in the GoG universe. Although it is implied that they were completely wiped out. :3
Another one of my favourite books alone because of the formatting. I was looking for this book for a while
and then just randomly found a coloured copy at my local bookstore like holy shit.
Reading the book is also just such a unique experience, do u know what jumpscare it was when I turned the
page n there nothing but the line "Muss das sein?" which roughly translates to "Does it have to be?"
Had to double check if I actually had the english version at this point, cus I did not expect the random german.
(Which is my mother tongue actually)
So yea, go read the book, it's pretty confusing, but so peak.
Criminally underrated, one of my favourite animated movies of all time.
Genuinely such beautiful animation, a perfect blend of realistic, but not too much so that the characters look uncanny.
Now, the movie covers I believe the first 3 books of the series, although they have changed alot of the story.
It follows the kidnapping of Soren to St.Aegolius, but unlike in the books, where they're a separate organisation, in the
movie St.Aegolius is under the rule of the Pure Ones, an organisation of purely Tytos/Barn Owls, who believe
in Tyto Supremacy.
I don't fully like the erasure of St.Aegolius, but I can understand why they did it, as the Pure Ones are
simply the more "interesting and evil" villains.
